Our First Big Trip - Pottsville, Pennsylvania
We’ve been in business for over 10 years now, and we love looking back at the adventures that got us here. It all started with our first major business trip to Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
The Ultimate Garage Find

I stumbled across a Craigslist ad for thousands of new-old-stock (NOS) parts from Economy Garage in Pottsville. The business had been closed for over 10 years, and the new building owner wanted to clear out everything inside. He convinced me to come take a look. I convinced my brother, Steve, to join me on the trip and we arrived, we realized we had hit the jackpot.
The building itself predated the automobile, originally serving as a livery for horses and carriages. It still contained incredible historic machinery, including a massive cast-iron gear over 6 feet in diameter. As for the parts? It was a treasure trove spanning from the 1910s to the 1980s, covering everything from standard cars and trucks to commercial and military vehicles. We pulled 10-hour days just to pack up half a semi-load of history.
History on Tap

After a long day of packing parts, we went out to explore and ended up at Yuengling Brewery, the oldest brewery still operating in the United States. We lucked out and were the only two people on the tour! Hearing about their survival during Prohibition was fascinating. But the ultimate highlight? Getting to drink a beer straight off the production line, before the top was even sealed on the can.

If you're ever in the Pottsville area, it's an absolute must-visit.
Cheers,
Dan
